i) Only candidates who pass the Preliminary Examination will be called for the Mains Written Examination. 

ii) The Mains Written Examination will consist of five subjective/narrative papers. 

iii) Each written paper will be three hours long. Papers I to IV will carry 200 marks each, while Paper V will carry 150 marks (100 marks for essay writing and 50 marks for language and grammar.) 

iv) Only bare Act copies of Legislative Enactments will be provided. 

v) The law papers must be attempted in English only. 

vi) The minimum qualifying marks for the language paper Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) will be 33%. The standard of the language paper Punjabi (Gurmukhi Script) will be equivalent to the Matriculation Examination of the Punjab School Education Board. 

vii) No candidate will receive marks in any paper unless they obtain at least 33% in it.
